Jody heads up Bulldozer Films, whilst also working for other companies. She has previously worked in a production capacity for It’s My Shout, the Iris Prize Film Festival and Kevin Allen’s sequel to Twin Town.
Kate Chesson
Company Director
Kate also heads up Bulldozer Films. She is an experienced producer and lecturer at Coleg Gwent, and is the lead tutor of the BFI Film Academies within Swansea.
Michael Karam
Company Producer
Michael leads recruitment for BFI Film Academy courses across Wales, oversees our alumni on the It’s My Shout programme, manages and hosts our networking events, produces social media content and manages awards for Cardiff Mini Film Festival. He has experience producing and directing independent shorts, and works for the Iris Prize Film Festival.
Tom Betts
BFI Academy Lead Tutor
Tom Betts is a filmmaker, host and event programmer based in Cardiff. He works on the BFI Film Academy events programme for Wales, the monthly Chapter MovieMaker short film showcase, and the Darkened Rooms pop-up cinema series. He is also the lead tutor for the BFI Film Academy Short Course in Cardiff.

Laurence is a filmmaker and educator with over 16 years of professional experience, specialising in short-form educational media for clients such as The Open University, WWF, Oxford University Press, NHS Wales and the Welsh Government.
Sarah Williams
BFI Academy Course Assistant
Sarah is a filmmaker and film critic based in Cardiff who assists the BFI Film Academy courses across Wales, helping students in the classroom through utilising her on-set knowledge.
Niall Gylnn
BFI Academy Course Assistant
Niall is an experienced filmmaker with a history of working in the media production industry including digital restoration. He assists us to deliver the BFI Film Academy Short Courses across Wales.
